What people ask before treatment

Who should give me Botox or dermal fillers in the UAE?

Injections such as Botox and fillers are medical treatments, so they belong in a licensed clinic, not a beauty salon. Ask who will inject you, what their profession is and what their licence number is, and check it with the regulator of that emirate: the DHA in Dubai, the DOH in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, or MOHAP in most northern emirates. Clinics inside Dubai Healthcare City are licensed by the DHCA.

What should I ask about the product before an injection?

Ask for the brand of the toxin or filler and, if you can, see the box before it is used. Ask whether a filler is made of hyaluronic acid, which can be dissolved if needed, and whether a follow-up visit is included. Prices are often quoted per area or per syringe, so ask how much product your plan needs and what the total comes to.

Is VAT included in the price of an aesthetic treatment?

Not always. Cosmetic treatments in the UAE are usually subject to 5% VAT, while basic healthcare is zero-rated, and some clinics advertise their prices before VAT. Ask for the full amount in writing. Health insurance usually does not pay for cosmetic treatment, so plan to pay it yourself.

What is the difference between HydraFacial and Morpheus8?

HydraFacial is a branded facial that cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates the skin with a machine, without needles. Morpheus8 is a device that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy, and it can leave redness and swelling for a few days. Ask who will carry it out, how many sessions they suggest and what each one costs. Our pages for each one only list clinics that have the device.

Is the first consultation free?

At some clinics it is, and some also let you pay a course of treatment in instalments. Ask when you book, and ask whether the consultation is with the doctor who will treat you or with a coordinator.
